Yango Ghana, a ride-hailing service, has launched a new promotional program to provide app users the chance to win guaranteed prizes this holiday season.
The giveaway, branded the “Ghana Yango Partners Drivers Championship,” takes the shape of a tournament in which both devoted and lucky drivers are picked or nominated and given various rewards for their hard work. The “Championship,” as it is simply known, began on November 29, 2021, and is set to end on December 31, 2021, according to a statement from Yango Ghana, which was copied to the Ghana News Agency.

It is open to all licensed Ghanaian drivers who are registered with the Yango service, it explained. Drivers have the chance to participate or get nominated in the “For the Best Drivers” and “For the Luckiest Drivers” categories. The statement explained that winners in the first category would be selected weekly from a pool of eligible registered participants based on the maximum number of rides they were able to complete within a given week.
All drivers with at least 10 rides per week are also entered into the ‘For the Luckiest Drivers’ giveaway category and winners are selected through an automated random selection technique.
“The ultimate winners each week will take home new Samsung Galaxy A12 smartphones.” Other prizes include grocery bundles and gift cards. The more trips are completed, the higher the chances of winning. “
The promotion, it said, had already spotlighted some driving champions who had gone home smiling with giveaway prizes in hand in the first and second weeks of December. Mr. Kwame Collins Gaah, married with three children, was adjudged the best driver in last week’s championship with 189 trips.
While commenting on his achievement in the competition, he said he was extremely excited and proud of himself for winning the grand prize. Driving with Yango for the past two years, he explained, had always presented minimal stress, expressing optimism that the ride-hailing service was on its way to soon becoming the leading giant in Ghana.
The second best driver of the week, Mr. Martey Prince Tawiah, from a family of nine, said he could be on the road for 24 hours a day, taking riders to their various destinations. Even though he was new to the Yango app, he topped other participants to place second with 177 trips.
Following Mr. Martey very closely was Philip Kwame Owusu, who claimed the third-place prize with 176 completed trips. He recently graduated from St. Mary’s Training College and had only been with Yango since September of this year. The announcement and notification of his fortune caught him by surprise, he said.
The Championship is still open for eligible drivers to take their chances on winning by visiting, filling out, and submitting the electronic application form made available before time runs out on December 31.
From there, the next step is to go online, take orders, complete rides, and keep fingers crossed, the statement said.
