According to industrialist Dr. William Mensah-Ansah, the use of strikes as a negotiation tactic by labour unions is antiquated and in breach of the clients’ service charter.

He claimed that all service providers, public or private, have contracts with their clients regarding performance; as a result, “it is unacceptable for labour groups to use the vulnerability of clients and customers for their personal interests and gains.”

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Tema, he claimed that in the service performance rule of engagement, the three parties that enter into binding contracts are the employer, the employee, and the customs. These contracts may occasionally be voluntary or legal.
