The arrival operations at Terminal 3 of the Kotoka International Airport were suspended around 2100 hours on Tuesday, December 28, according to the management of Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL).
According to a statement released to the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday, the Ghana Armed Forces’ Base Ammunition Depot Unit was promptly brought in to undertake a preliminary evaluation of the bag and its contents, which were spotted at the reception hall.

“The bag was subsequently taken away for further investigations, the outcome of which will be made public,” it said.
The Management of GACL, consequently, apologised for the disruption in the arrival facilitation processes during the period and assured the travelling public of its commitment to ensure their safety and security at our airports.
The statement was in response to enquiries made by the GNA to the GACL upon hearing about the incident.
