The Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL) has accused the Ghana Trade Union Congress (TUC) of impeding the completion of the procedure and the adoption of the draught of the committee to establish suitable organised labour institutions.

GFL observed that the TUC instead adopted a knee-jerk and ad hoc approach to handling labour concerns, rather than erecting proper mechanisms to constitute Organised Labour.

The GFL’s Secretary General, Mr. Abraham Koomson, stressed to news crews in Tema that the TUC was not the same as organised labour and that the Industrial Relations Act (1960), Act 299, had removed the TUC’s ability to formally represent all workers in Ghana.
