A concerted effort is needed to entice more female students to pursue degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), according to Ms. Stephaine Asabea Opoku, Administrative Officer for the STEMinist Foundation Ghana.
The STEMinist Foundation, according to Ms. Opoku, is implementing advocacy techniques to encourage and assist women who work in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
She stated that the objective was to increase the number of female students by providing advocacy, empowerment, counselling, and career assistance at junior and senior high schools.
This was said by Ms. Opoku during a stakeholder engagement that the Ghana News Agency organised for state and non-state actors to support national development.
