In order for unity and social cohesion to prevail in the Bono Region, the National Peace Council (NPC) has pleaded with traditional leaders there to assist in settling the alarmingly increasing number of chieftaincy disputes.
The request was made by Alhaji Suallah Abdallah Quandah, the NPC’s Bono Regional Executive Secretary, on Tuesday at the start of a stakeholders’ forum on chieftaincy and land conflicts in Sunyani.
In memory of the late Paramount Queenmother of the Sunyani Traditional Area, Nana Yaa Nyamaa Poduo II, the NPC Regional Secretariat sponsored a discourse with the theme “Managing and Resolving Chieftaincy and Land Disputes through Dialogue and Consensus Building.”

Chiefs and queens, clergy from the Christian Council of Churches and the Islamic faith, as well as district and municipal chiefs, were present.
