After numerous members of the Arsenal staff tested positive for Covid-19, the club is planning to implement stronger Covid-19 policies.

The epidemic has not yet harmed any players, therefore Arsenal’s Premier League match against West Ham on Wednesday evening is scheduled to go ahead as planned.

According to the Athletic, a “small number” of training ground staff members tested positive on Monday, prompting the team to increase safety precautions. Players will now be tested in their automobiles before being allowed to participate in training.

These procedures were first implemented in the 2019/20 season, when football resumed following the outbreak of the pandemic. That is not the only thing that is about to change.

Last week the Premier League instructed clubs to also re-introduce emergency measures following a spike in cases across England. This includes stricter social distancing at stadiums and training grounds, as well as several other steps to curb the spread of the virus.

Arsenal are the latest top-flight club to report coronavirus issues with Tottenham’s recent games against Rennes and Brighton called off due to a sizeable Covid-19 outbreak.
