Educationist and counsellor Mr. Daniel Fenyin has asked the Ghana Education Service (GES) to give teachers and principals back their disciplinary authority so they can punish misbehaving students.

He claimed that they will be able to fully control the children they educate as a result, and it would also make it easier for them to maintain control over student behaviour.

In response to an event at Adisadel College wherein a student was assaulted by another student, Mr. Fenyin made the argument during an interview with the Ghana News Agency.

He asserted that the recent policy that required teachers to get GES clearance before punishing misbehaving children was promoting indiscipline in the classroom.
