The Global Evangelical Church’s (GEC) Moderator, the Right Reverend Prosper Samuel Dzomeku, has urged Parliament to adopt the anti-LGBTQ+ law as soon as possible.
He claimed that given the three major religions of Ghana—Christianity, Islam, and African Indigenous Religion (AIR)—abhorred such practises, there was no justification for the extended delay in passing the bill.
The sermon was delivered by Rt. Rev. Dzomeku at the Trinity Chapel in Kotobabi, Accra, for the ordination of 32 GEC ministers.
The Moderator spoke on the topic of “Holiness and the Word of God,” based on Psalm 119:9–11, and stressed the importance of actively raising children and young people in light of the prevalence of foreign cultural practises in today’s world.
