Over 22,400 candidates to write BECE in Upper East Region.

From August 7 to August 11, 2023, a total of 22,439 applicants will take the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Upper East Region.

Over the 19,999 candidates that registered in 2022, this is a considerable rise of 2,440, or 5.7 percent.

The total for this year included 10,587 boys and 11,852 girls from 571 public schools and 123 private schools spread over the 15 Municipals and Districts in the area.

53 of the applicants are special students from the Talensi District’s Gbeogo School for the Deaf.

There will be 79 exam centres utilised in the region as a whole.

Mr. Giba Abraham Adoctor, the Upper East Regional Examiner, confirmed this to the Ghana News Agency in Bolgatanga.
