Dr. Haruna Zagoon-Sayeed, a lecturer at the University of Ghana, has advised Muslims to make education a priority, invest in it, pool their money, and send their kids to reputable schools.

He claimed that because of erroneous priorities, Muslims had failed to recognise the importance of education and had wasted money on activities that did not serve them personally or society as a whole.

“Muslims need to stop spending money on items they don’t need and put education first. I think we can pool our resources and attain strong schools if we place education first in our community’s priorities and make it our first choice.

The statement was given by Dr. Zagoon-Sayeed at the 25th anniversary seminar of the Young FOMWAG, the youth branch of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Ghana.
