Mr. Eazi, a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record entrepreneur, has shared the lead single off his next album “Chop Time, No Friend” as well as the release date.
Produced by Andre Vibez, the long-awaited debut solo album was scheduled for release on Friday, October 27, 2023.
The news was made through a video that director Allison Swank Owen shot in Dakar, Senegal.
With his early tracks and mixtapes, Mr. Eazi established and made popular the Banku Music sound, and “Chop Time, No Friend” is a fun return to that sound.
Mr. Eazi explains that “Chop Time, No Friend” refers to the concept of not thinking of anyone while one is enjoying a meal.
The Ghanaian proverb “Chop Time, No Friend” is fairly widespread.
