The Lending Hands Touching Lives (LHTL), a non-governmental organization, has feted the children of Peki Dzogbati in the Volta Region as part of the Christmas celebrations.

The United States of America-based organization presented a Christmas pack containing soft drinks, biscuits, candies, Christmas hats, spectacles, cake, and storybooks, among others, to the 374 children who participated in the event.

Nana Ama Eleonu, Executive Director of LHTL, told the Ghana News Agency that the donation was ignited by a request by Mr. Churchill Oforikumah, Assemblyman for the area.

Mrs. Eleonu said the Assemblyman requested help for both the kids and the elderly, but due to financial constraints, the organization decided to put a smile on the faces of the children for them to enjoy the season just like their age-mates elsewhere.

She gave the assurance that more would be done as and when they gathered enough resources to meet their needs and also called on other organizations and individuals to extend a helping hand to the vulnerable in society.

Mrs. Eleonu indicated that it was her organization’s vision and mission to have a world where underserved women, youth, and children could imagine a better future.

She said putting a smile on the faces of such people through the provision of services and programmes would improve their well-being.

Mr. Godsway Donkor, the Youth Chief of Peki-Dzogbati, thanked the group for the gesture and prayed for God’s blessings for them to be able to do more for the community in subsequent years.
