The government of Ghana has been encouraged not to buckle under pressure to accept LGBTQIA+ in Ghana by Professor Dr. Naail Mohammed Kamil, Head of the Department of Human Resource and Organisational Development at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
He made this statement on Saturday during the Peace and Unity Convention 2023, which was put on by 1Ummah, a group of organisations working to create an environment that will help people grasp Islamic beliefs.
“Pathways to Thrive: Embracing Uncertainty and Igniting Growth” was the theme of the event.

Over 1,500 attendees would have regular interactions with Islamic clerics during the two-day convention to discuss important problems pertaining to the Muslim community.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer, and intersex people are all included under the umbrella phrase LGBTQIA+.
