Soon, the first phase of 124 housing units for Appiatse, a Western Region town that was completely destroyed by an explosion, will be finished.
There are 35 two-bedroom, 25 three-bedroom, 15 four-bedroom, 8 five-bedroom, 41 one-bedroom, 1 six-bedroom, and 1 seven-bedroom units in total.
The majority of the buildings have been roofed, according to Mr. Thywill Quarshie, the Appiatse Reconstruction Committee’s PRO, who spoke with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) about the status of the work that has been done so far.
He added that the drainage system had been finished and the area’s road network was being built, adding that exterior work, including electrical, plastering, and painting, will soon start.
