Dr. Emmanuel Borkor Nuakoh, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Aspirant, who lost the NPP parliamentary primaries in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency, has refuted allegation of receiving financial support of GHC1.7 million from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He lost to the incumbent, Mr Alfred Obeng Boateng.

Dr Nuakoh stated that such allegations were being propagated to dent his image and must be disregarded by the party faithful.

“The allegation, that I took huge sums of money from the NDC National Chairman, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah to unseat the incumbent MP which surfaced during the NPP primaries in Bibiani must be treated as lies and propaganda to dent my image”, he told the media.

Dr Nuakoh pointed out that the unfortunate circumstances led many delegates to question his loyalty to the party, and subsequently caused his overwhelming defeat.

According to him, he had dedicated his life and time to service of the party in various capacities, including being a member of the NPP National IT team, during the 2020 general election and head of operations at the IT Directorate.

He also played a key role in the 2021 Election Petition, serving as the IT analyst for the NPP Legal Team at the national level.

Dr.  Nuakoh, therefore, called on the party leadership to step in and right the wrong to avoid division in the party adding,
“I was informed by the Regional Secretary of a reconciliation team visiting  Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency to solve the internal issues within the party after the primaries but later postponed and has not happened again after 100 days of the election.”

“I want to call on the party leadership from Constituency, Regional and National Executives for a fair hearing and reconciliation ahead of 2024 polls, else I will be compelled to declare my intention to contest the seat as an independent candidate,” he said.
