To protect the integrity of the Service, Dr. Nana Ato Arthur, head of the Local Government Service (LGS), has ordered staff members of the Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies to do their jobs with a strict sense of professionalism.
“You have the onus of making Local Government units very responsive to the requirements of your citizens. In the same manner, they must adapt to technological advancements, network, and engage with people from varied backgrounds for the correct know-how in furtherance of their respective Assemblies. To achieve the goal of establishing a world-class, decentralised, and client-focused service, we would need to collaborate closely.
“Therefore, it is crucial to understand how jobs or responsibilities are classified, especially in the budget or finance classes.
