Mr. Evans Teye Agbozo, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Commander of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), has warned importers and exporters against the practise of avoiding payment of all applicable customs by circumventing systems.
According to Mr. Agbozo, people who committed such crimes would be discovered during a Post Clearance Audit (PCA) and would be required to make up the discrepancies.
On Tuesday, July 18, he was delivering a speech at a PCA seminar hosted by the Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA) in Kumasi.
He made these remarks in response to complaints from importers and exporters about the financial difficulties they encountered after the GRA’s PCA.
