About 440 communities in the Northern area will get multi-purpose dams in the next three years, according to Mr. Emmanuel Larbi, Chief Executive Officer of Hi Limit group, the organisation implementing the government’s One Village, one dam programme.
He claimed that there had been some hush surrounding the initiative while his outfit was raising money to carry it out.
“With a USD$6.3 billion total investment, the Hi-Limit Group as developer, and the Government of Ghana as facilitator, the project is finally prepared to begin.
440 units of the integrated plants would be built across the five Regions, according to Mr. Larbi, who told the Ghana News Agency that the project is the single largest investment in the five Regions of the North.
