According to Ghana’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Mustapha Ussif, hosting the 13th African Games will have some positive socioeconomic effects.
Athletes from 55 African nations will compete in 22 sports at the 13th African Games, which are slated for March 8–24, 2024. Sports will include Badminton, Cycling, Swimming, Athletics, and Tennis, among others.
The Sport Minister revealed that an anticipated 2.5 billion TV and internet viewers would watch the African Games over the course of the two-week event while speaking at a news conference in Accra.
Mr. Ussif claimed that the African Games would support the Ghanaian cedi by boosting foreign direct investment inflows and enhancing the sporting infrastructure.
