At Abura-Dunkwa, the administrative centre of the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District of the Central Region, a farmer, age 40, who had been missing for 14 days, was discovered dead in a forest.
The body of the deceased, Mr. Kojo Atta, alias “John,” a father of three, is thought to have been thrown in the jungle after being slaughtered by ritualists.
Following an exhaustive 14-day search by a community search team under the direction of Assistant Superintendent of Police Paul Akonde, the District Commander, the deceased’s body was discovered on July 23 in a decomposed form in a bush not far from his home.

One of the deceased’s boots was missing, and his body found curled up behind a tree not far from a swampy settlement.
