The University for Development Studies (UDS) contains a Living Lab that was founded by the West African Centre for Sustainable Rural Transformation (WAC-SRT) and is supported by the European Union.
Beneficiaries would be able to receive training in aquaponics, hydroponics, and insect farming at this facility.
The Integrated and Circular Technologies for Sustainable City Food System in Africa (INCiTiS-FOOD PROJECT) was launched in Ghana with the development of the Living Lab at the UDS Nyankpala Campus.

By lowering the environmental footprints associated with the food system and promoting circularity, the project aims to increase food and nutrition security in Africa.
The INCiTiS-FOOD PROJECT and the establishment of the Living Lab centre at Nyankpala were both inaugurated during a speech by Vice Chancellor of UDS Professor Seidu Al-Hassan who described the establishment as one of the eight.
