Man United struck by COVID-19 cases

According to ESPN, Manchester United informed the Premier League after a “small number” of players and staff tested positive for coronavirus on Sunday.

United is set to travel to Brentford on Tuesday and is awaiting word on whether the match will go ahead. Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday was postponed after many players and staff members tested positive for the virus.

United’s players and backroom staff were given the all-clear to travel to Norwich City ahead of their 1-0 triumph at Carrow Road on Saturday after passing their final set of regular testing.

A bunch of players and staff were sent home from training on Sunday after testing positive for lateral flow.

The remaining players did non-contact and individual training outside.

It is not the first time United have been hit by a COVID outbreak. The club had a summer friendly against Preston cancelled after a number of players tested positive.
