School children from Azuma Junior High School on Monday, paid a visit to the national swimming team, whilst training in Inawashiro.

The visit was to show solidarity to Team Ghana for choosing Inawashiro as their camping base for the Olympic Games.

The children visited Ghana’s swimmers at the poolside during training to sing Ghana’s national anthem and waved miniature Ghana flags at the two swimmers Abeiku Jackson and Unilez Takyi.

Mrs. Delphina Quaye President of the Ghana Swimming Association (GSA) said was touched by the gesture adding that the gesture from the children was a demonstration of love for Team Ghana.

She said it would also motivate the swimmers to work hard to make Ghana proud.

“I cannot assure Ghanaians of a medal but we can improve on our time and target continental honours. It is a great achievement to qualify for the Games and we are proud of that,” she added.

Mr. Mike Aggrey Chef de Mission of Team Ghana who was present at the training session was taken aback by the ability of the six-year-olds to render in harmony with the Ghana national anthem.
